Out of this month's 8 reads, Worlds of Ink and Shadow by Lena Coakley is hands-down one of the best books I've ever read. Haunting, breathtaking, believable, complex characters that I cared about-- what an imaginative fantasy about the talented and tragic Bronte family.

A Natural History of Dragons (Marie Brennan), Westmark (Lloyd Alexander), and A Wizard of Earthsea (Ursula K. Le Guin)

This months' reading included Red Queen, Magonia, and Poison Study — but everything paled in comparison to Shannon Hale's Goose Girl. 

My 2016 Goodreads goal is 50 books. That means I have to read 1 book per week, all the while writing a book and completing all my freelance work. 

I wish the last 2 months allowed for more stories on the blog, but in lieu of writing reflections, here's a review of my most recently read book: Burial Rites, a historical fiction debut novel by Hannah Kent. It's based on the true story of Agnes Magnussdottir—the last woman beheaded in Iceland.
